You have to participate in your own rescue. You can’t just cross your fingers and hope it works out.
From my college apartment, I started my first million-dollar business because I needed money for diapers and getting a steady job wasn't as much fun as wondering where our next meal was coming from. Wink. We’ve been around since 1989. Only thing that I can say to that is…to God be the glory. I am a Florida A&M University Presidential Scholar. My literary work was featured in the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture–the largest of its kind in the world. Our apparel designs have been worn by folks from all parts of life; from recording artist Anthony Hamilton to journalist Susan L. Taylor to activist Roland Martin to your mama, and your cousin, too. But you better believe I didn’t always get it right. I would like to say that I have regrets, but it would neither change the course of my past, nor be true. I’ve made enough mistakes for all of us. I wrote Intentional Ascension so that you will be able to avoid most of them - on purpose.
